Sonja O'Hara (director/writer/actor) recently directed and acted in the film, Mid-Century, starring two time Oscar-nominee Bruce Dern (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”), Stephan Lang (“Don’t Breathe”) and Sarah Hay (Golden Globe nominee for Starz “Flesh & Bone”). The film was recently acquired by Lionsgate and will premiere in theatres on June 17th. Additionally, O'Hara's original series, Doomsday, has just been picked up to stream on Shudder. Doomsday brought her to Catalyst (then ITVFest) in 2016 as an Official Selection of the festival and went on to be awarded both Best of Fest and Best Actress and also earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2021. While at the festival, HBO requested a meeting with her to discuss her show. This meeting served as a launchpad for her, causing a chain of events that led to her signing with WME and opened her up to bigger projects, the opportunity to market herself in larger arenas and has ultimately led to wildly successful projects such as Mid-Century.
